Guest post by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vindell Washington
Earlier this fall, I spent some time on the road traveling to every big city in Louisiana. Every year, we bring together all of the brokers, agents and consultants that do business with Blue Cross.
About 90% of us have health insurance from birth to age 64 because we either have a job, retired from a job or are related to someone who has or retired from a job.
Every two weeks, I have the distinct pleasure of speaking to a group of Blue Cross’ newest hires in a class we call Health Insurance 101. The crux of the lesson is a simple one: What’s the point of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana? Why are we here?
How many times have you seen something in the news and been surprised?
Editor’s Note: This is the second part of our interview with interim Blue Cross Medical Director Dr. Paul Murphree.
